People Readiness

As you move to a new world whether through a technology implementation, change of operating model or right sizing the organisation - the roles across your HR function will change – is the team ready? Is there clarity on the modified/new roles? Does everyone across the function (and the business) understand the roles and accountabilities?

A frequent mistake is to assume that these will all fall in to place with a new system, or organisation structure. Focus, effort and clear communications need to be undertaken with all of your people to ensure the benefits of the entire project are realised

Does the business understand the support and enablement that you are providing if you have changed the way you deliver services? Have they understood both the business drivers and the benefits? What benefits are there for them as often the perspective can be “Less people and a whole load more work has shifted to me and I’m already at full capacity”!!

How is your team prepared for the changes? Some have been very close to the solution as they have been deeply involved in your project, what about those on the periphery? Do they understand the vision that you have been driving towards? Are their roles changing? What new roles are being introduced to the team? Are their jobs under threat as you change and adapt your operating model?
